Today was an easy run out at Coot Lake. There was a lot of snow on the ground so we stuck to main roads for the majority of our run. Pace was nothing special, probably around 6:30's. This next week I am targeting the 65-70 range, so I'll see how that goes.

Ever since finals started, the regular practice crowd has been dissipating. There were not too many people at practice today, so the stretching circle was definitely lacking. I ran with Tebo (Matt) for most of the run today, mainly because we both started to pick it up a bit. That kid is way cool, not to mention an awesome runner. I did four strides at the end.

I just finished finals! Yes! That almost feels as good as finishing a race, but not quite :) Haha I was a bit sore from my strides yesterday. I guess thats the first speed intervals I have done in nearly a month, so I guess it is to be expected. I have an AT run on Friday, so I will see how that goes. I feel like I haven't lost any fitness on my break, just some sharpness.

I ran with my coach, Clint Wells, and a couple of other runners from BRC today. We went about 10.5 around Boulder reservoir. I felt pretty good, and at the end I picked it up a bit with Clint. It felt good to get moving a bit.

This was the first workout I have done this season, and it felt surprisingly easy. I did a five mile AT run on the Highline canal. Unfortunately, the trail was a mix of slush, ice and mud. I ran 27:10, which was good considering the conditions. I would estimate these factors slowed me at least five to ten seconds/mile. Luckily I managed to fend off any big falls, but I came pretty close. Knowing this I am happy. I would say that this was worth around 26:30 in dry conditions, showing that this is the best shape I have ever bagan a season in. Additionally, I felt calm and realxed the whole time, never over exerting myself. I used to push AT runs a bit harder than true threshold pace, but not today. I felt smooth and relaxed the whole time. Next week I will do the same workout, so hopefully some of the mud and slush will subside. I love these workouts. They really build your aerobic base; an area that I still feel very weak in.

Just some easy running today. It was a bit cold, but tolerable.

Easy with a few strides at the end.
