Nothing too special today, just an easy run before my first official workout with the team tommorrow! I finished all of my paperwork today, and I went to pick up some gear from the sports office. I got new shoes/flats and lots of apparel, so I am really excited. More importantly, I got the jersey! When I got back to my appt. I was just itching to try it on, so I put on the uniform. I waited a long time for that moment, just slipping on the jersey. It was then that I realized what I was in for. I really need to step up and train hard to represent my school. I feel fired up and ready to train hard. I am deleting any mental barriers/limits, keeping an open mind and taking running a season at a time. If I follow Wetmores program diligently, I am sure results will come.

Very nice with the colors Nick. Keep that desire and passion as that is what it will take to move to the next level. It is also important to have faith in your coach. You will have peaks and valleys along the way but you are right you will only get faster over time. Congrats again and just remember you have earned it and are ready to run with the competition. You are one of them (the fast guys) now so don't let anyone intimidate you. Stay healthy and run fast!

Congrats on making the team Nick. Sasha has told me for awhile how much you've wanted to make the team and how it's the best team in the nation. I'm very impressed and very happy for you.

This is so exciting, Nick! It must be an awesome feeling to finally put on that jersey. You have a lot of untapped potential, and you should improve tons under Wetmore. My only concern is that you stay healthy and not do too much too soon. I'm reading "Running with the Buffaloes" now, and seeing that Wetmore's is a high mileage program. Demands on your body, and especially recovery, will increase as you ramp up the miles. Remember to take good care of yourself, get enough sleep, eat well, etc.
