Easy seven at 6:30 pace. I can't believe the race today :( I guess we just had an off day, that unfortunately happened to fall on NC's. I am curious as to what Wetmores take on the situation will be. I am sure he is far from thrilled. I want to see the full results before I begin to over-analyse, though. On a happier note, I am feeling pretty good for my turkey trot on Wednesday. Thats all I can control right now, so I am going to keep my head focused on that.

How did you guys as a team end up finishing? I can't find the results on the web and did not get to watch the webcast? Sounds like it didn't turn out the way you wanted...bummer.

Nick - good luck in your race Wednesday.

I watched the race in Terre Haute and cheered for the Buffs whenever I could. At nationals, all cylinders have to fire at the same time. It's usually the difference between a trophy and 7th.

Keep working hard, and you WILL make that national team. I was the unlucky 8th man for my team both my freshman and sophomore years. Both years I went into the conference meet as a Top 7 runner, and both years I lost my spot to other guys who were coming on hard. Talk about a bitter pill. But it made me focus even harder for the next years, and I made the national team my junior and senior year. Just be glad you are on such a competitive team. You would be 3rd or 4th guy on a lot of other D-I teams, but it would not be as cool.

Hey thanks Paul! I bet it was cool to watch the race. I am mainly just disapointed because I know our team had much more talent and ability than the final results showed. As for me going to Nationals - I hope to be going next year. We are losing a couple of people and I hope to keep on progressing. It's crazy, a 24:50ish 8k is good enough for 10th on our team. I guess thats good, though; it will help me strive that extra amount. This season has been (by far) the best I have ever trained. I did not hit any excessive mileage, but I really felt like I/we trained smart. I am excited to get a couple of seasons like this under my belt!
