Alright, today was the first decent track workout of the season. I was assigned 4x1k repeats at 2:50 pace. Everyone else in my group did the workout this morning, so I did the workout solo. Luckily a lot of people from the team were down at the track to provide some support...loved that! I started out way too fast, running the first 100 in 15, but I slowed a bit and settled into pace. Between intervals I had 400 meters rest. I hit almost every split on pace, except the first one which I hit in 2:49. This was a good workout!!! I hope to be able to maintain this pace for the 5k at sea level later this season, so I need to get a good feel for the pace now. I definitely felt the last week of hard work, but I managed to cruise through ok. Later we did omni and lifted weights. Good day!
